Common mistakes made before fulfilling an order

Dear customers! We undoubtedly remember everything you have said, all the peculiarities, details and wishes. But, sadly, we have to admit that we can’t define which of the hunreds of orders is yours if you failed to write down this information in the blank.
A technician hasn’t seen the customer. He knows nothing about the width of his/her face, complexion, the color of hair and eyes. He even doesn’t know the sex and, more than that, the wishes if they haven’t been written down. We also can’t make a lens a couple of millimeters wider if it has already been completed. Be so kind to check the required diameter before ordering lenses. It’s quite easy, you know.
ADVISOR’S MAIN MISTAKES:
- not to check the required size willing to sell quicker- not to listen to the client- to listen, but not to write down the direction for the technician
In God we trust, the rest we check
Blind trust is the main mistake of all professional ophtalmologists. Being, apparently, used to having responsibility for their words, they expect the same from others. Finally, having taken on trust, in actual fact, promotional information, a doctor takes the blame for the uneffectual correction on himself/herself and often has to pay for damage.

COMPARE THE REAL POSITION OF FAR & CLOSE VISION ZONES
At first, a few words about the terms. (Progression channel) is, in accordance with various manufacturers, the distance between different points, and (fitting heigh) means the same. ADD power and degression are absolutely different unequal quantities.
Misalignment can mean both the possibility of the enlargement of the effective diameter of a lens and a manufacturing defect. It looks as if this term was invented by bureaucrats.
What concerns quality. Lenses are not pills. They can’t cause anaphylactic shock. So, what is written on a package does not necessarily coinside with the contents. If the possibility of control is impossible, change your supplier. Do the same about the manufacturing services.
Now, about advertising. Presentations, lectures, drinks receptions, strict testings and raves, undoubted manufacturer’s reputation… Are you sure you haven’t forgotten about the object of all these talks during the process of getting knowledge? It seems to be about the most expensive one from the line of products…
Marking!
Before marking puillary distance it is necessary to put the frame on the table upside down to assure yourself of its right geomatry. If fitting the customer’s face anatomy is needed, it should be done BEFORE marking!
The frame will be undoubtedly evened at a workshop after fitting lenses, and carefully marked centers will take another position.
But the most interesting thing is the prescription. Whatever correct your diagnostics is, take into account the manufacturing realities. Some things are just impossible to be made, sometimes because of common financial problems or just technological peculiarities and often because of the protervity of a (having rights) customer.
That is why, when applicablechange the degree within the bounds of +/-5 from (convenient) glassesthe cylinder and the degree MUST BE THE SAME for a far-close-monitorADD power must be the same for OD-OSas well as the ARITHMETIC difference between OD and OS in a prescription for far and close vision
It may sound rude, but this is the plan of the way to success for modern technologies.Yours sincerely, optic workshop (Designoptic Albina).
