Highest quality lenses CR-39 are used for tinting. Even a slight defect makes tinting impossible. It appears in the form of darkening and whiteness which are guaranteed to a customer by the standard quality material. Under the influence of a painting reagent the surface of the lens hardens and operating characteristics of the lens improve. Color is achieved not due to a pigment but due to the ability of the colorant molecules to repel some frequancies of the visible region of electromagnetic radiation. Thanks to this effect bright color of a lens outside isn’t the same inside and it doesn’t basically influence color perception. Chemistry - active polar centers of a polymer and colorant molecules generate while heated up to 96° C. Due to the opposite charge the diffusion of colorant molecules into the thickness of polymer appears. The longer the process, the deeper a colorant penetrates into the thickness of the lens, the higher is the level of color saturation. The inverse process - the outwashing of the molecules out of the material is possible only for the surface, i.e. a sunscreen layer can’t be whitened, but a cosmetic one can be corrected. Exactly due to this fact we have chosen the optisafe technology (certificated in the USA both for the safety of a customer and a technician) after having made a lot of experiments. It is a complicated but controllable process which guarantees quality and resistability to ultraviolet.
COSMETIC TINTING 5-15%, GRADIENT OR SOLID
Minimum, unseen level of colouring. You can see the color only against the background of a white sheet of paper, but on a face the lens seems to be transparent. Coloured shade combined with one’s complexion creates a cosmetic effect, accentuates the color of the eyes and their brightness, provides with good looks even without any make-up. This version is very complicated for production. It is unforgiving for mistakes because of the low saturation, which demands the highest level of professionalism from a practitioner. You can only use bright clear and even vibrant colors for achieving the effect of eye shadows. Samples are absolutely necessary for quality result.
UNIVERSAL TINTING 15-40%, GRADIENT OR SOLID
The first version is eye-catching with a sharp contrast. The top of the lens is dark. It is of mean saturation. It creates deep tone eye shadows. The bottom of the lens is transparent. It provides visual comfort while working indoors. Eye-catching looks are guaranteed if the frame has been perfectly chosen. It suits both women and men. Contrast makes one’s look sharp and active, shows self-confidence.
The second version is masking. Colourful shadow created by tinting can whitewash a person, e.g. dark under-eye circles, wrinkles, eye-redness. The main thing is to define the acceptable level of darkening and the needed tone with the help of the samples. Warm color or cold grey, green, yellow, purple or pink, umber or mars, whatever you choose, shade color should whitewash the looks of a person’s skin.
Universal version is both for indoors and sunny weather outdoors. Tinting is performed in neutral tones or in bright specialized ones. In this case you should take into account pragmatism and functionality. The potential of your workshop can provide both an appearance result and filters’ functional characteristics.
SUNPROTECTIVE TINTING 45-85%, GRADIENT OR SOLID
High saturation tinting is a very long process, especially in the case of gradient. At the high level of darkening eyes are hidden and the outside color of the lenses isn’t so important. Spectral characteristic of the fiter and style peculiarities of the chosen pattern take a new meaning. We can achieve the result we need both in case of copying a brand and creating a new image. One can order the color, the saturation, the protection level from ultraviolet rays and the filtration level of the visible blue spectrum. Choose what you need.
SPECIFIC TINTING
Appearing on the stage one can have red, yellow, blue, mirrorlike, violet-colored, multicolor, … lenses. Everything for theatrics. Use fourth level filter for mountain-climbing expeditions (the highest possible level of tinting is too dark in town even with the brightest sunlight). If a person has medical evidence, such as colorblindness, functional eye disease, glare from an artificial lens, damage to the retina use special filters according to the doctor’s advice.
Some people have occupational peculiarities, such as night driving, computer all throughout the day, jobbing in bright conditions, unusual climatic conditions. Everything is possible. Any functionality according to the client’s needs.
Bear in mind that the result of tinting mostly depends on the technician’s qualification. Different diopters, astigmatism, high-index made-to-order lenses, complexion peculiarities are irregular and need individual attention.
